Greater Reach and a Greater Audience with Empire Avenue #empireavenue
#empireavenue Getting greater traction for your business is all about content marketing these days. And that means lots of sharing on social networks. But the problem for small businesses is that their own social networks can be rather small. So how can you get a greater reach and a greater audience for your content – and hence for your business?
Of course, you could pay to get Facebook or LinkedIn to promote your posts, or you could pay for Twitter to promote your tweets. But as I found to my cost, your limited budget is soon exhausted by each of these options. A far better proposition is to run “missions” on Empire Avenue in order to get greater exposure for your content.

Personalized Learning: Schools without Classrooms - Masters and PhDs
Vittra runs 30 schools in Sweden and wants learning to take place everywhere in its schools, so it threw out the “old-school” thinking of straight desks in a line in a four-walled classroom. They eliminated all of its classrooms in favor of an environment that fosters children’s “curiosity and creativity.” The schools are non-traditional in every sense: there are no letter grades and learners learn in groups at their level, not necessarily by age. Admission to the school is free, as long as the child has a personal number (like a social security number) and one of the child’s parents is a Swedish taxpayer.

The e-textbook transformation
A new wave of e-textbooks is giving students more than just words and a few hotlinks on a digital page. Publishers over the last few years have been adding video, interactive maps and gamified quizzes designed to engage students more deeply in their learning.
“Think of it as making the textbook a hands-on activity,” says Andrew Miller, an ASCD faculty member and technology expert. “It’s making the content come to life in a way that meets the needs of different learners—auditory learners, visual leaders, text-based learners.”
The latest e-textbooks, developed by traditional publishers as well as new players like Discovery Education, are powered by a host of adaptive features, such as adjustable levels of difficulty and instant translation into other languages. And in some districts, teachers are using platforms like Apple’s iBooks to create their own digital course materials.

Beyond assessment - recognizing achievement in a networked world
ePortfolios and Open Badges are only the first wave in what will emerge as a wider network-based form of assessment that makes tests and reviews unnecessary. In this talk I discuss work being done in network-based automated competency development and recognition, the challenges it presents to traditional institutions, and the opportunities created for genuinely autonomous open learning.
Do Social Signals relay SEO Scores for Website Rankings
Social signals are like inbound links, more links a site has linking to it, more it is seen by search engines as an authority for higher rankings. #plbkktSocial signals are similar to the concept of inbound links wherein the more links a site has linking to it, the more it is seen by the search engines as an authority and the higher it will be ranked.Authority of these social signals are determined by sharing quality content in the form of updates, tweets,check-ins, pins, likes & +1sof high influence so that content weight is catalogued by the search engines after fine tuning big data clusters of social indicators that are deemed spam.
