Autoplay Might Be The Problem With Facebook's Video Ads - It looks like Facebook Facebook is experimenting with autoplay on videos in the news feed. This will work better in some mobile environments than others of course: but the real problem could be what it portends. For we already know that they intend to introduce video ads to the service. Discovering That Your 18-Month-Old Is Using an iPad in Pre-School

On a recent summer day in Nashville, Kara Teising opened her Facebook page for a lunchtime scroll through her timeline when she discovered a photo posted by her son’s daycare: an image of her 18-month-old son surrounded by other toddlers, their chubby faces glued to a brightly colored, animated screen of an iPad. The accompanying post read, “We are taking a BYTE out of our new Apple iPads! We are hungry for learning!” Teising was shocked, unaware that the school, which serves children from six weeks old to pre-K, even had iPads.

Now You Can Take A College Course On 'The Walking Dead'

AMC, UC Irvine and educational tech company Instructure will offer a massive open online course starting after the season premiers October 13th.

Each class will use plot points from the previous night’s episode and clips from older episodes to enhance the lesson. The course will cover topics like how humans prioritize needs in a catastrophe, the role of public health in a pandemic and the science of hope.

Things I Will Not Be Missing In My Paperless Classroom.

"As I head into the new school year, I'm not scrambling for my old lesson plan book or looking for notes in some long buried folder. All of my work is saved in Evernote and I will be sharing the work with my students on the second day of school. As I was sitting and thinking about all of the things I was going to need to start the year, I was struck by the number of things I will not need now that I'm as paperless as I can get. In no particular order, here are the things I will not miss in the upcoming school year."
